“What's a dance without music?”
Can you dance without music? I say you cannot because I'd submit that even without music playing - dancers have some song in their head. This portable Victrola is a 1920s model and it's the first "portable" model. Can you imagine the freedom that people felt when they went from always needing a musician to having a Victrola in their home, to being able to take their music with them to the beach or summer camp? It must have been an amazing transformation in not only music appreciation and influence, but the ability for friends to gather and dance!
