“ Family History ”
My husband's parents were immigrants. They met in a displaced person's camp after WW2. His mother was Ukranian, but technically after WWI her town was in Poland. His father was from Hungary. When my mother-in-law passed away 2 years ago the family went through the house and each brother took a Ukranian and a Hungarian stitched pillow. This is one of the pillows we have. I cannot imagine hand stitching either country's patterns - they're all an amazing amount of detail and work. I'm really in awe of the detail and perfection of repetitive patterns. Such patience - something I don't have, nor a steady hand. I feel this photo kind of breaks a rule with the stripe down the middle, but it actually displayed the pattern and pillow the best.
